About Me
I live with my wife and three children near Camolin, surrounded by trees. When I get caught up in my thoughts, I walk the woodland trails. The slow rhythm of the forest calms my mind, leaving me more centred and authentic. During challenging times, those walks offered comfort. These experiences have influenced my coaching approach: taking simple steps, creating peaceful environments, and connecting with nature.
“That’s the spirit behind Walk-&-Talk—simple movement, calm space, better thinking."
A head injury in 2014 changed everything. For over ten years—and still today—I’ve tried to manage a neurological condition by taking tiny steps: stand, shuffle, step, repeat. Accepting that my career in construction was no longer an option was heartbreaking, but it also forced me to ask: what next? …Positive psychology helped me keep going: resilience as a practice, humour to lift the mood, and gratitude to stay grounded. Those habits—and walks in nature—rebuilt my confidence. They’re the heart of how I coach now: strengths first, small wins, steady momentum.
“Each mini milestone — learning to walk again, regaining strength, building consistency — gave me confidence.”
I used to think I wasn’t “the academic type.” One tutor thought otherwise; this had a transformational effect on me and propelled me forward. With their encouragement, I took Level 5 Applied Social Studies, completed it with full distinctions, and continued—earning a First-Class Honours degree and publishing my thesis in the Irish Journal of Applied Social Care.
